Causes pelvic pain in the third trimester

Oh pelvic pain! It is pretty much unavoidable in the third trimester.

The main cause of pelvic pain is the baby. The size and position of the baby can cause pain and pressure. Pain can also be caused due to the joints relaxing. It is normal for your joints to relax during pregnancy and it is one of the ways your body prepares for birth.

To ease the pain try changing positions frequently. Frequent position changes can help to move the baby into a more comfortable position. Pain can also be a sign that you need to take it easy and get more rest. There are also support belts that can be worn during pregnancy that can ease the pain.

Sometimes women can have a medical problem causing pain. If you pain is severe or nothing you do eases the pain be sure to talk to your doctor about it.

My kids put so much pressure on my pelvis I thought I might need a wheel barrel to help take some of the load off lol. Along with kicking my ribs so much I thought they broke them. They weren't shy about stretching out and making mommy as uncomfortable as they could.
