question or advice

I have a question for everyone.I'm a single mother to a almost 4 year old little girl.I need to have surgery soon.I have to have a hysterectomy. which means I will be out of work for 6 to 8 weeks.I'm worried about paying my bills during the recovery.I have short term disability thru my work but worried they may see it as a preexisting condition and not pay.does anyone know of any help available in situations like this? TIA

I am not sure of any other resources but I do know a few people who have had Aflac and had surgery, one for breast cancer and one weight loss surgery and they both got paid while they were out of work.
I would also try going calling your local welfare or disability office if they deny you the short term disability. They would be able to set you up with ways to fight it or other rescources while you are out of work.
