Gifted children with behavior problems
Some times when a gifted child is not stimulated they will act out. This is especially true in school where they may sit for hours a day and be bored to death. Sometimes they will refuse to do the work if it is too easy and become argumentative. This may lead to getting in trouble with the teacher and/or school depending on the frequency of the problems.
The best thing to do is to explain to your child that although he knows he can do the work, he has to show that he can. No one can see inside his mind to see that it is too easy. Also, inquire about enrichment for a child who appears to be on the gifted level. Request testing as well when your child reaches the age of being eligible for a gifted program.
