Tips for feeding a big baby.

My son is a big baby haha. He was born at 8 lbs 10 oz and 22 inches long. As of his last check up he was 23 lbs and 30 inches tall!! He's hug! Doc says to ease up on the feeding and to a point we did, but then we didn't. Lucas is heavy yet, but he's also tall, which makes it even out a bit. Plus when he starts walking and running around his weight will definitely stabilize and/or go down. This is our choice to not listen to the diet advice though. You should always listen to your baby's doctor. The only reason we didn't was because if we fed Lucas according to the doctor, he would still be hungry after his feedings. Again, this is our choice. Go with your gut. :)

Keep on doing what you are doing. As long as he stays on his curves on his growth chart then he is doing well. I have a friend who has a daughter that weighs 5lbs more than my eldest (they were born 3mo apart). Her daughter has stayed on her growth curve for three years now and is just fine. Her doc isn't looking at her muscle mass or her bone structure, just the height for weight chart that says she is obese. I think this is sad because this 3yr old walks 3 or more miles a day without being tired or losing her breath. She is very active and doesn't have a belly pudge.

So long story short keep on doing what you are doing. You know what is best for your child as well as what works best for your family. If your child is hungry then by all means feed your child. The pediatrician is not the one who has to deal with the cries of your child throughout the day and night because he is hungry.
