Article: Breastfeeding on Demand Changed My Life

I kind of felt like this mother who wrote the article did when I discovered on demand breastfeeding. I felt like I was mothering according to my instincts, we got more sleep and I had happier babies. Life was good.

She mentioned modified on demand nursing but I've never heard of that, she used it with success with her first but her second child had a different idea and she had to research to find out how to deal with this her second child. Can you relate? Did your children force you to learn something new for the better-ment of the whole family?

Did you start out on demand nursing? How did it change your family dynamics?…

I think I would have gone insane trying to keep my babies on a feeding schedule when they were newborns. No really, my brain would have turned to mush and I would have been rocking in a corner, haha.

With my oldest child I was a single parent and did exactly what I wanted to do in regards to co sleeping and feeding. When I had my son I was married and still navigating how he would feel about my wants. Luckily he was 100% for me doing things my way. Of course it changes the dynamic a little bit, but we adjusted.
I breast fed all three of my daughters on demand
In the first month or so, I nursed on demand. After that point, my daugther had a schedule that she followed pretty closely each day and by the time I had to go back to work, she was on a regular schedule. That helped to make the transition to daycare easier on all of us, especially for me to pump at work.
