What happens to the cervix in early pregnancy

During early pregnancy your cervix will close and seal itself shut with mucous. Your cervix will be long and firm. In early pregnancy it will probably be high up and hard to reach. Your cervix should stay long, firm and closed until the end of the third trimester and then it will start to prepare for birth.
