What milk will you give your lo when they reach 1 year old?

I'm on wic and they will start my lo on regular milk in 2 months. isn't 1 year old still to young to drink regular milk? I was thinking of formula like enfagrown because it has DHA, vitamin D, etc and I think its healthier than regular milk, that is if I decide to stop bf.

Most pediatricians suggest starting your child on whole milk at 1 year old. By then they are typically able to digest it, though you should make it a slow transition.

Personally - my girls were breastfed to well beyond 1. Mason transitioned around 14 months from formula to whole milk.

1 year old is when it is ok to start giving your baby regular milk. If your baby is underweight many doctor recommend sticking with infant or toddler formula for a few more months. It is a personal choice but WIC has policies so when using WIC you have to follow their rules. Personally I keep using breastmilk/formula for longer than a year.

I was thinking of continuing breast milk but If I do decide I will be pumping. I'm concerned on how her stomach will react to whole milk due to the reflux she has.

If she was reflux she might react poorly. I suggest introducing milk slowly so she can adjust.

I nursed beyond a year with most of mine but did start my first two on whole milk when they were 11 months and a year. My oldest weaned at 11 months and I wasn't going to buy formula for just a month so I transitioned her to whole milk.

Was it hard to change from bm to whole milk? I'm worried about starting lo on whole milk then she will be looking for my boob.

Some of my children took to sippy cups well and other didn't get them so we tried a straw and others we just held the cup while they drank normally from it. If they were ready to wean, no it wasn't hard. What was hard was telling them no to nursing when I was trying to wean them. Hubby had to help me or else they did want me. I say just start with a few sips from a cup and slowly work your way up. That way you'll see any reactions right away too.
