Sleepover birthday party ideas?!
Ah, the possibilities! Sleepover birthday parties are great if you can keep everyone entertained!
- A movie marathon... Either the kids favorite movies... all of 'em in a series... Whatever your tastes. I imagine this is super easy these days with Netflix unlike when I was a kid and a parent had to go rent them. You can let everybody help choose movies!
- Theme party... Spa party? Homemade face masks, make some lip balm or something... Or a Star Wars party. Soft lightsaber fights! Yoda pancakes! Colored popcorn for whichever side.. Are you Sith or Jedi?! I had a horror party when I was a kid and it was a ton of fun! Glow in the dark stuff, Hallloween decorations (my birthday was on Friday the 13th that year) We even had a Jello “cake” that was shaped like a heart and “bled” (re: oozed colored honey) when you cut it!
-Video games? Wii... Mariokart or Super Smash Bros. Wii sports. Warioware! Some of the tamer Xbox/Playstation games?
-Super pillow fights! You can buy pillows that look like weapons.. swords and stuff... online. I thought they were super neat!
-Making something is almost always fun... Crafts, no bake cookies? Slime.
-Midnight water balloon fight? With glowsticks!
-Blanket fort. Totally still fun for big kids.
-Ghost stories (between the kids. Don't scare the children, mama)
-One word stories. Can become absolutely hilarious. Everyone adds one word in order.
-Board games... So many to choose from.
-Microwave s'mores.... or campfire in the back yard if they're old enough.
-Make up a song.
- Heck, a whole rock band performance! (make up a song and dance or choreograph a normal song)
- I think Truth or Dare is almost inevitable
-My cousin and I use to love drinking plain water out of wine/champagne glasses... Weird, I know, but we were kids and never allowed to use them! You can get plastic ones at the dollar store.
-Make your own sundae! Just lay all the flavors and toppings on a table.. mix and match. Kids love to crush cookies, so forget the prep!
Okay, I totally want to have a sleepover now, lol! I'll take the Star Wars popcorn, blanket fort, and movie marathon with hubby, please. Makes me think of something...
Hubby once told me years ago marriage was like one VERRRYYY long sleepover, hahaha! I have to admit, sometimes he's right.
Anyway, it's been a while since I've had to throw a real sleepover.
What ideas do you mamas have?
What are your kids favorite birthday party sleepover activities?
Food though, that's the best part it seems.
