weening from a bottle
at what age do you ween your toddler from a bottle, and how do you do it?
I'm not sure how this is going to go, but I want to take the bottle from Lucas at one year old to use sippy cups. Going cold turkey! Fingers crossed!
My mom had us off the bottle by a year, but every mother is different. I breastfed, but I am assuming it would be much like weaning from nursing. I would just slowly introduce the cup or sippy cup first and see how your child does, then you can work them up to a full cup replacing one of their bottles and keep doing the same thing until the cup replaces all their bottles.
I'm not there yet, but I've heard from most moms here on the site that they did it around one year old.
I would stop at a year if you can for dental reasons. You don't have to stop at exactly 12 months old, but just start the process then and go slowly.
