Social skills games for shy children

We tried to work on this at home first. Most of our children are not so shy they won't talk to people upon warming up to them after a few minutes to a half hour. We also try to take our children to our business trade shows/market s so they are helping and working with people one on one. They do tend to outgrow their shyness given the chance.

Our 15 year old use to hide under the table when she was younger and now she is the spokesperson/sales person of her own soap business. She has taught two soap making demonstrations on the farm as well. We didn't push her or force her but gave her opportunities to grow and I think those opportunities helped her outgrow her shyness.

I think with some it will take longer. Our older son still tends to hide for the longest time when we have people over for farm tours, but he eventually warms up. We are trying to take him to more markets since he really didn't go to them as a young boy, like our older girls.

That's great that he outgrew his shyness!

I appreciate the message not to push too hard, that time may be the best remedy here. :)

Definitely. It is amazing how they change and grow over the course of time.
