Pregnancy: What causes sleepiness

Your body is busy growing a human. Literally. There is so much going on in your body, it needs to produce extra blood, your uterus has to expand exponentially in size, you have new hormones coursing through you, and your body takes a few cells and turns them into a human child. There's a lot going on, so it's no wonder that you might be tired!! To help battle sleepiness, be sure you are eating enough - try to avoid sugar as it causes bursts of energy but doesn't last for long. You may need to go to bed earlier as some women have a hard time sleeping at night during pregnancy. Most importantly, remember that this is temporary! In just a few months you'll have your baby and then you'll have even more reasons for being sleepy!

What did you do to battle fatigue during your pregnancy?
