Forward facing at what age?

I know that the rules have changed on this since I had little ones. We were told to turn them around at one year old, then I think it was two years old. There doesn't seem to be an age recommendation now, is there?

When will, or did, you turn your child forward facing in the car seat?

With my first I turned her at 1. My second we turned around at 18 months. My 2 1/2 year old has only been forward facing since March.

I switched Nina to front-facing at just under a year old. She was the size of a two year old already, and her legs were up on the seat where rear-facing. She'd get mad and uncomfortable and I was worried she would hurt her legs, so we turned it around and she's been way happier ever since. Someone once mentioned that at a year, if they weigh at least 20lbs, you could switch them. Nina was 30ish lbs by then, so I wasn't worried.

I turned Lelynn around at 9 months because were our way home from a 16 hr trip and the sun was in his eyes and I couldn't seem to get it out of his eyes. If I have another I will wait till atleast 1.
