CSA season starts today!

Our second CSA (Consumer Supported Agriculture) season starts today. We had to get some things from the farmers market and another farm since we were so late planting but with all the rain hoping we can just use all our stuff next week! Kind of nerve wrecking hoping everyone will be happy with their boxes this week! So much to do this afternoon....thankfully hubby is on top of most of it and I will just have a few things left to do before he leaves to drop off the first boxes at our hostess site.

It is a box of veggies per week for 20 weeks. We also do egg shares so people are guaranteed a dozen eggs per week for 20 weeks of the growing season.

I've never heard of a Bountiful Basket but it sure sounds similar. See my response to Sheila above Alissa. Is that what a Bountiful Basket is? Oh and I forgot to say we aim to put 5-10 items in the box. I'll post a photo of today's. We had to get some extras from other farms because our stuff isn't quite ready to pick, but we needed to start! Our members knew this ahead of time.

Vegetables and eggs. We get paid a certain amount for a half share and more for a full share. Most of our members bought half shares. So we do the same amount of work for less money....hopefully that will change in time.
