Leg cramps during pregnancy
Leg cramps during pregnancy are very common. Doctors don't know exactly what causes pregnant women to have leg cramps but a few guesses are: increased weight makes your legs sore and tired and the blood volume and fluid levels in your body are increased and put more pressure on your legs.
To help avoid or ease leg pain:
- Avoid standing or sitting for long periods of time
- Stretch and exercise your legs multiple times a day
- Lay down on your left side
- Rest frequently
- Drink plenty of water
