Help us--it's too hot outside!

It's summer, and I live in the metro DC area. Today, we are the hottest city in the U.S. (or at least so my husband told me--I see that it's currently 94 degrees F), and it is still early summer! It's not wise for us to take my daughter to get her daily walk with temps above 90, as our neighborhood doesn't provide much shade. Both she and we (my husband and I) really enjoyed these walks. It was a chance for the adults to get some needed exercise, and for Maddie to get out and about. My husband would often use that walk to put her to sleep. Now that it's gone, though, we're looking to replace it.

Please, mommas, share your ideas ! Is there anything like walking we can do but still stay safe and cool?
