I work for an allergist.. and just recently when Monroe had his 4th month appt, the doctor reminded me about when we start foods, to do so in 3 day or so intervals.. he also inquired if my husband or myself had food allergies either now or as children.. I said no.. he then reminded me that there really is no rhyme or reason to the allergies.. that even though some people THINK giving kids peanuts, strawberries, bananas, too soon can make an allergy come to life.. it's really not the facts.. food allergies are indeed increasing but there still really isn't a rhyme or reason to them!
Were you worried about food allergies when you first start feeding your little one?
This year my daughter had a bad reaction. We thought it was a nut allergy and the doctor wrote a prescription for two epi pens and we were sent for testing.
Turns out it's not a nut allergy, or any of the other common ones. She had the reaction again but we still don't know what's causing it. So, we keep an epi pen on hand at all times and are trying to figure out what in the heck causes her to react.
Like you said, no rhyme or reason to allergies.
