Preschool games for learning math facts

I don't teach math facts to my preschool children in a formal way. I teach them their numbers and how to count. We may hold up two different sets of fingers and have them count them, count food and ask the occasional, "You had two cookies but ate one, how many are left?" kinds of questions. We have used books that are adding different items together but that is about all.

With math facts, we use linking cubes or counting bears when they are first learning them because we want them to understand the concept behind the math fact. After that it comes down to memorizing them.

That is to be expected of a gifted child. One of our sons was adding and subtracting in his head long before I taught him, that amazed me, but he isn't a gifted child just mathematically inclined.
