Tips on baby proofing your stairs

When we first looked at this house last year the very first thing I noticed was that there are no stairs. There are a few leading up to the front and back door, but none indoors at all.

If your house has stairs it is so important to baby proof them. There are a number of gates available at the store that you can install at the top and bottom so that baby doesn't take a fall. Make sure the gates are latched every single time you pass through them.

That's what we have too. I think for stairs, it's important to do a physical installation. You don't want to hold a baby in one arm and mess with a manual gate at the top of a stairway--an installed swing gate makes that easy and safe.
