Have you ever taken your child to the ER before? What made you concerned enough to take them? What was the outcome?

My daughter at 10 months - mersa (staph) she went from having small pimple to golf ball on few hours. She ended up going to nearby children's hospital to get it lanced. I was a new mom an absolutly terrified.

No, but we did call an ambulance once because we had no idea where the ER was...Nina had bitten her tongue open and had a mouth full of blood, which scared us half to death because at the time we didn't realize she had chomped her tongue. The EMTs arrived, checked her out, and said she'd be fine. Told us to keep letting her chew on her frozen teething toys because the cold would keep the swelling down, otherwise just to keep it clean and watch for unusual behavior. It healed quickly, though now her tongue has a red scar on it =/

When Lelynn was two he was sitting on the bed and I didn't realize he had the drill and he fell over the bed with the drill and it went in about 1/4 inch away from his eye. They glued it and he has a scare. I never left the drill anywhere again.

For me a mom with 3 kids, I have been on more than one occasion, recently if any of you have followed me through the past week or a great friend of mine on here Sara, I had to take my 5 month old to the ER twice this week, the first time being because she developed a fever of 102.8 under the arm (without adding the 1 degree). The day after that I had to take her back to the ER because she had only eaten about 5 oz. within a 10 hour period, and only wet one diaper. The second time I took her in they admitted her due to RSV, double ear infections, and another type of infection in her lungs that I cant spell. She is on breathing treatments every 4 hours. All is well now she came home from the hospital today and is doing very well.

Samuel is only 2 month old. He was having difficulties breathing. I went to the ER
last week. He end staying 2 nights. They also discover his spinal is open in the back and they schedule an appointment with a specialist next month. God works in mysterious ways. I would have never though he had that problem if they would have not taking an x-ray on him. The staff in the ER were wonderful. It is a new children's hospital and they were good with all my 4 children's while we were waiting in the ER.

Not technically. But we did have to rush to the local doctor's office for a cut eyebrow-so basically ER.

Oh yes i have. I am suprises cps has not been called. But i think they all know my boys tend to not listen.
We will start with haiden. First visit was when we first moved in. He fell from the top of the basement stairs and bit right throug his lip. They gave us an antibitoic as they didnt want to put stitches in a 1year olds mouth. The next visit was the summer after we moved in. I just picked him up from my mom as my husband and his friend were cleaning the old chimney up. Haiden had residue on him so we took him in for precaution. He also ends up at the er for minor colds as he dehydrates himself.

Logan i had to call posion control a few times. But his first visit was when he was 1 week old he spiked 104.8 fever. We couldnt bring it down. He was hospitalized for 3 days for viral
Menegitis. His second visit was as a toddler his finger got smashed in a door hinge and was fractured. His third visit he was so sick he was in his death bed and it was croupe.

Vincent was just there at 6months old as he fell from a high chair. I thought i buckled him and snapped the tray but turns out i didnt and i found him on the floor. He had no signs of injury.

Multiple times. Recently, even. For a high fever (last year); once she got spit-up/mucus caught in her throat and she nearly suffocated (at about 3 months), and then most recently was a couple of weeks ago, she pulled a jar of pickles off of the kitchen counter and it shattered on the floor. She then proceeded to slip in the juice and fell on the glass. Thank god, she didn't get any in her torso or head, but she did slice up her left foot really good. Nearly had to get stitches. She's on the mend, now, though.

Last year, I also had to call poison control because she tried to eat a dishwasher gel packet. She was fine, though.

                                  I had to twice.
When Sophia was about a year old she wasn't feeling any good, she was running a fever and soon started to throw up milk and anything else that she tried to consume it wasn't a pleasant site when I was taking her temp. she vomited all over my pants and shirt I looked at the thermometer and when I saw that it said 102 I quickly changed my shirt and picked her up and hurried over to my in laws house, they were home thank god and when my mother in law saw me she gasped by my appearance she understood what was going on and took Sophia and I ran back home changed my pants and got a bag together to go to the hospital I went back and when we got to the hospital they did all kinds of test turns out it was the flu. She had to take some over the counter medicine.
Then her most recent one was about a month ago she woke up screaming and clearly in pain. She wouldn't move her right arm. So my husband and I freaked out and in no time we were all in the car on our way to the hospital when we got there and waiting to be seen by a dr. she starts farting and I mean farting! letting them rip!! She starts laughing and playing and smiling like nothing is wrong. the dr. finally comes in to see what was wrong and we tell her that we think it was her arm that was hurting her we thought it was broken but it could also be trapped gas now. She looked at Sophi and checked her arm out and couldn't find anything wrong with it. Sophia will hear about this when she gets older. I can promise you that! lol
