Giving baby water for hiccups

From about six months on, I always gave gripe water for hiccups. I don't think regular water would really do anything. Gripe water was very effective, though.

My husband says that his hiccups cause him pain, so we treat hiccups for my daughter in case they are the same for her.

That seems to be the only thing I really notice it doing, oddly enough--when Maddie has hiccups, I give it, and bam, they go away.

Gripe water is a liquid given to infants with colic, gastrointestinal discomfort, teething pain, reflux and other stomach ailments. The brand I prefer contains known stomach calmers ginger and fennel.

Gripe water is something you buy or make, and it contains stomach calming ingredients like ginger and/or fennel.
