Who is better at pleasing their mate, men or women?

I don't mean just sexually, although that plays a role. I mean all around, who puts the most effort into pleasing their mate?

I say it depends on the situation. I do more with pleasing my husband (and kids) on a daily basis but he does more with the bigger special things such as I get to decide what we get for a house and a new SUV. I get to decide where and when we go on vacation. He wants to make me happy and he knows letting me make these decisions will make me happy.

I think that depends on the personalities involved. I think women are usually more attentive emotionally, but men are more so physically (not sexually). The dynamic with a couple usually dictates who makes the most effort. I think in successful couples alternate depending on the situation. My husband usually worries more for my physical comfort, rather than my emotional comfort. I think that is more our dynamic rather than just a norm. It truly depends on the couple.

As far as my situation goes, we demonstrate our efforts in different ways, and I feel like what we both do is pretty fair and equitable. For example, I'm very generous in the big things: moving us closer to his kids so he can co-parent with ex-wife, going out of my way to gift ex wife on mother's day and to show our support of her having a career, budgeting so we all win and can enjoy family activities. Erik: he does a lot of things daily - opening front/car doors, keeping our bedroom tidy and the space in the garage clean, mowing front/back yard, heavy lifting, sending me sweet texts before he starts work to show he's thinking of me and baby, kissing my belly multiple times during the day.
