Fully engaged: how long after did you go into labor

You might be excited to hear from your doctor during a routine pelvic exam that your baby is fully engaged. Fully engaged means that your baby is in the head down position and that your baby is low and pushing on your cervix. When your baby is fully engaged it means that your baby and body are ready for labor. Labor can still be days or even weeks away though. A lot of change still has to happen, your cervix needs to thin out and open. No one knows when your labor will start, not even your doctor, but you can rest easy knowing that your body is preparing and it will happen soon!
