Need at home work or to be able to work with son by my side.

I am desperate to find something to work for me. I want to stay at home working. I need something with immediate pay and possibly training. I do not want to live with my parents. I signed up with a fundraising company that sells fundraising products but there is no real training and it is real hard work just to get a sale. Hard because you have to find those needing to do a fundraiser first then you have to call them til they respond to you. I did not expect it to be as hard. I am use to face to face sales. Cold calling stinks

Are you pitching them with the fall in mind? I know many schools hold fundraisers in the fall, winter and spring, not summer. Same goes for girl and boy scouts.

Well my team lead suggested I focus on football, marching band, cheerleaders, dance studios, martial arts academy's. Someone else told me swim teams. I have physically meet with two. 4-H and Trident Martial Arts. They both said they had to talk to someone else about it. This job is fairly good on commission. It is also good as far as how much the people raising the money get. 70-97,6% plus free priority shipping, free customization(min. # req'ed), and they give bonus booster fund raisers to help you get a little extra. It is a A+ accredited BBB company. I just feel their leads are nothing more then a online phonebook. Even though their site said they give names and phone numbers of people needing a fundraiser. Also in the list to contact were churches. I was thankful that one I contacted told me we do not do fundraisers. I am willing to share 10% of my commissions to get hot or warm leads. My personal sales goal is 2000 that will get me back on my feet. I need that as a newly single mom.

It sounds good. I just think the season is all wrong for fundraisers to be honest. I would follow up with the ones who said they needed to talk to someone and see if they did. If they didn't politely ask them if you could contact them on their behalf to save you time and energy of having them as the go-between - not in those words but you know what I mean. I'm sure you know this, but in sales it is all about persistence and if you have that face to face, you have that over the phone too.

If you are looking for something to do while or until you get this fundraiser thing rocking, check out our past discussions for some ideas:

I will try them. I tried one PTO they had no fundraising chair yet and would not til the fall.
That is why I was focusing on Football, Marching Band, and Cheerleading. I can see the summer months being hard. The academic school year getting better. But I need employment like two weeks ago. I have applied to drive daycare bus/van. I homeschool so I don't think I can do much of public school bus driving as they would expect my son to go to school with. And I also do not want kids picking on him on the bus because he is different.

Anyone ever do personal grocery/errand shopping? I put an ad on Craigslist but I don't know how safe that is. Seeing as my husband answered and ad to purchase two used laptops and was robbed at gunpoint. They got cash, car keys and his phone. He was ok but I don't want that kind of problem. I have to focus on helping the elderly do these things and I don't know that the elderly are so tech savvy. I have Grocery IQ app too that they can send me their list and it even has coupons on it. But this would be something in the initial meeting. Any suggestions? I am also looking into a franchise and contacting the SBA in my area to help me find or get grants or SBA loans to help me get started as I do not have the money as of yet. I charge $25/hr for the shopper job. and if I do shopping and prescription refill in one location, like Walmart or Costco I charge $35. I see this is the average rate with the info I was able to find on it. I think I need to word it somehow that $25 is the minimum for me coming out to do this. Thanks Ladies! :D
