Squeezing in a Workout!
Moms.. is squeezing in a workout important to you every day?
Do you set aside time to do something healthy for yourself?
I ask because my husband and I do this.. we really try hard and prioritize this.. case in point.. my husband gets home right around 6:30 and boom, out the door I go to catch a 7:00 barre class about 20 minutes away.. he knows how important it is to me.. and vice versa.. he gets up at 4:30 every week day to make a 5:30am boxing class.. we find it SO important, it betters everything in our lives when we take pride in our health.
What about you Mamas? How important is it to you?
I take Nina on an hour-ish long bike ride every morning since it's only about 70-80 degrees at that point, and it's 90+ by the time we get back home.
I also do 40 jumping jacks every day, 20 push ups, and 10 sit ups during her nap.
If it's storming out or just plain too hot already in the morning to take Nina along, I'll run/walk/jog laps around our apartment, which is awkward lol, and nina ofc wants to help.
I've already lost 10 pounds, but I'm sure most of it was just water-weight so far, so I've gotta keep it up every day.
Um, nah not really my thing.
N just from time passing with no activity benefiting us. I've always found the 1st 2 weeks of starting a routine being rather tougher just to keep to it. Once you pass that 2 week mark it tends to get easier. Even more so if you have a buddy/partner to do it with you because together you can motivate each other. Keep it up its a start. :-)
Anyway extra workouts means I find time to put in a DVD and follow it (Billy Blanks Boot Camp, Yoga, taking the kids on a stroller walk (Alex in a baby carrier and the girls in the double stroller), etc.) I normally march while folding laundry, march while washing dishes, carry groceries in two bags at a time, play with the kids on hands and knees and of course pick up toys throughout my day. I don't own a mop so I have to wash floors on hands and knees. Yes I try to get the kids to help with clean up but if they are not willing then I'm choosing to not fight the battle. Some things are worth the battle such as getting the girls to try new foods or to eat at least half of the foods I know they like on their plate, bed time/nap time, potty time. Most everything else just isn't worth the battle, at least right now.
