What age would you allow your child to be online?

My younger kids are getting more and more into being online at times. Aiden and Chloe love to get online they are 6 and 4, I make sure I know what they are doing online and if I notice they are doing something they aren't suppose to be doing they get their online time taken away. Aiden listens pretty good when it's time to get off but Chloe doesn't listen as well and throws a fit when she has to get off. I don't mind them being online but they have to do other things too. I'm asking this because another mom told me that 6 is too young for kids to be online, I don't think it is if they are supervised.

I think it really depends on the child and what they are doing/looking at online. We let Mason and Audrey play on PBSkids.org sometimes... they don't know how to get to another site and there are lots of age-appropriate games on there that they enjoy playing. As with everything, it's all about balance. As long as Aiden and Chloe aren't spending their entire day online or looking at inappropriate sites I don't think it's a problem for them to get some time on the computer.

My oldest two are online quite a bit, they both have Facebook's and I have complete access to both their e-mail's and Facebook account. I check them everyday.
