Childhood depression

Children get depressed and doctors are now treating it differently than how they handle adult depression. Signs of depression in children vary and you may want to look at the following: problems in school and with friends; anger; difficulty in concentrating; and the perception that they are not loved. Symptoms can include a change in appetite (a significant weight gain or loss), changes in sleep patterns, fatigue, guilt or talk of suicide). While all of these behaviors can certainly occur in non-depressed children, I would still look out for them and seek a doctor's help.…
