Question....

My son is 4 and he has been a slow starter to getting to most things..... its been a big struggle with his speech and finally will be seeing a speech therapist on the 7th just trying to get him prepared for school.... now on the other hand, potty training, he does really good most days but, for some reason I cannot get him to poop in there.... I feel like I have tried everything, and I am worried that this will hold him back starting school this year.... any suggestions or has anyone had similar situation?

Have you talked to him about it? I know lots of kids get nervous about poop. Many think it is a part of them since it is much more visible and formed than pee is. He could just be worried about letting it go and is purposely holding it in because of that fear.

I have heard that too. But, his father hasnt been around in his life at all..... so that is a little bit of a different situation in telling him that...

I know we did have our boys see hubby on the potty or have him tell them that is how he does it etc.

He knows he is supposed to poop in there. because when he does have an accident in his underwear he runs to the bathroom and well puts the poop in the toilet and tells me he pooped....
