Article: The Emotions of Pregnancy and New Motherhood

I remember going through a wide array of emotions during pregnancy and as a new mom. Thankfully, I clued in to those raging hormones after a few pregnancies and took measures to help me cope: resting when baby rested, not letting the housework bother me, calling on friends and my mom to come visit me after baby arrived for extra hands and help and my husband always took time off too.

However, I did not experience anything as serious as mentioned in the list in this article. Those things are conditions requiring a doctor's diagnosis and quite possibly a visit to a therapist.

Did you experience any of these conditions and how did you cope?

I can say that I have had the Baby blues with two of my children. I believe that it was mostly caused by the lack of support that I had as a new young mom. There was probably a few of the more extreme things on the list that I did experience as well. However, I am glad that I was able to overcome my down feelings and work incredibly hard for my children.
