Have you ever used a bus to travel long distances?

We are going on vacation in about a month. I could drive but I get overwhelmed really fast in areas I don't know. Once we get to our hotel everywhere I would want to go is in walking distance or we can grab a cab for pretty cheap.

I am looking at Greyhound for the trip to get there and back. I have never taken a bus before though, terrible right? The price is SO good though, a lot less than I would pay for gas and tolls.

So, do you think traveling by bus with two big kids would be a major pain?

A long time ago me and a friend took a bus from Montana down to Vegas and then over to California. It was the worst thing ever. EVER.

It was August. We were on a bus that was seriously build in like 1942. It had no air conditioning and it broke down in Arizona. In the middle of the day. IN AUGUST. They wouldn't let us get off the bus and every seat was filled. I thought I was going to die and everyone smelled bad.

But.. I'm sure that's rare. I've taken short trips on them and never had issues. But there's some common sense things. Like.. don't go through Arizona in August.. because something might break. :)
