My eating monster....
Cullen started eating solids the beginning of June. Since then he has tasted green beans, sweet potatoes, pears, strawberries, apples, peanut butter, oatmeal, chicken, beef and peas. His favorites are sweet potatoes and oatmeal with pureed strawberries and apples. I make and puree all the food at home with a baby bullet. I found that adding a little bit of pear juice to the veggies helps with the puree and sweetens the taste for him.
He drinks water, apple juice and pear juice every day. I usually mix the three together although when we go on walks, he drinks just straight water. I found this is helps him to poop on a regular basis which is every 2 - 3 days now that he is eating solids. Nursing just wasn't giving him enough to poop and he was having a rough time the first week we started solids.
Did you know breastfed babies are very efficient in using all the breast milk for energy, growing etc.? And it is normal for baby's stool to change when solids are started. Babies need breastmilk or formula to grow and develop. Juice and water are not enough.
Yup, Cullen still breastfeeds 6 to 8 times a day. He only eats breakfast and dinner as solids and then it's only about 2 to 3 tablespoons of food. We are starting out small....but making BIG messes! Hee Hee Hee Thanks for your input!
I love that you have 8 kids!!! :) You rarely hear about large families like that now a days :) I came from a family with 5 children but my parents fostered over 46 children so I know what being in a large household of kids is like.................It's AWESOME!! :)
