Ughhhhhhh!

I don't mind this apartment complex. It's generally decent...except for one thing: Roaches.

Ever since we moved here, we've been seeing them at night. It's disgusting! I kill them when I find them, but I can't do it every night. I've tried what pest treatments I could find, but with Nina on the move, I don't want something poisonous just sitting around. The office FINALLY got back to me on it and is sending someone over to deal with it. If anything, it's the one thing that makes me want to move out of here once the lease is up, instead of renewing it. I just found a big dead one on the counter near where I was about to do the dishes. Just....EWWwwwwwwwwwww!! I'm too grossed out to touch it so I used to hose on the vacuum cleaner to get it and now I'm all weird-ed out and just....UGH.

Don't vacuum it up, make sure to put it in a bag sealed tight and throw it away. The eggs can still hatch off of a dead mama roach.

They are attracted to water too so make sure to keep your sink and counters dry. Don't leave dishes with water in them.

Also beware that when you move they might come with you. They can live in and on anything you own, fridge, microwave, couch, etc. The eggs can live for years too. My husband got them from an apartment and they moved and came with him. It was bad. There are things you can do to your stuff when you move to help reduce your chances of getting them in your new place. They are sneaky evil things so do research and take every precaution.

Ugh they gross me out. I don't think I could stay there knowing they were there also. I feel so bad for you guys. Have you talked to the office about getting them exterminated. I know a lot of stuff is poisonous but maybe you could go stay with someone until they are done? We had to do that when we first moved into a house we were renting. We had to set off bombs and just stay at my parents for a day or two and then we had someone watch the kids while we went in and scrubbed everything down and washed everything. Its a pain but it is worth not having to deal with them anymore. Blahhh

          Problem with most of that:

~I have talked to the office. They only just today called me back about it saying someone would be over "some time".
~I have no one here to stay with. I don't know anyone, don't have any friends here, or family. I'm not going to fly/drive ALL the way back to Missouri just for a couple days.
~I don't have anyone to watch Nina while I scrub it all down.

Id' have to rent a hotel or something...I'm hoping this all goes well.

I am sorry. That must be so hard. I hope they get everything straightened out for you. Your little girl shouldn't have to be around all of that and neither should you guys.

Try spraying in all areas your baby wont touch, the ceiling, outside of your apartment, in the inside/back of cabinet, behind your fridge and stove, etc. Any little bit helps. They also have traps you can put down, I preferred those to spray. I put them anywhere pets and kids couldn't reach.

Our old apartment came inside every single apartment on the Pest Control Days and sprayed in areas where babies and pets wouldn't reach or go. We never had bug problems there, though I saw a spider just once, killed it, and never saw another...This one only sprays outside the general building a couple times a month but you have to keep bugging them -no pun intended- to get them to do an inside pest control visit. I so wish we could just copy and paste our apartment from Florida to here XD It was SO much cheaper, SO much nicer, just...I miss it xD
