Waiting for my daughter to have her ultrasound done soon.
I am a mother of 32 weeks premature baby girl who weighed 4 pounds at high-risk and is now an adult mom of 28 weeks micro-preemie (my grandson) who weighed 2 pound 9 oz at birth and expecting her second baby due January 2015 (at high risk).
She wants to find out during her ultrasound. My grandson is 3 years old now. He spent a little over 3 months in the NICU when born. He has slight developmental delay in speech and communicate with a combination of sign language & speech therapy. Otherwise, a healthy intelligent boy who loves cars and being in his tumbling gymnastic class.
Important I forgot beside the speech development, my grandson is severely asthmatic due to lung/respiratory development born prematurely. That has been the hardest ordeal for him, and been hospitalized a few times for it.
Aww. I hope everything goes smoothly and she can carry close to full term! I hope your grandson is doing well also! That is so scary! That happened to my Uncle. His daughter was 28 weeks also I believe when she was born and she only weighed a pound. She is a healthy and very bright girl and is in college now but she spent a lot of time in and out of the hospital and was constantly monitored as a child.
Thank you. Glad to read your uncle's daughter is doing well.
Thank you. Micro-preemies are natural fighters.
My grandson is 3, and is tall at 38 inches now. You can't tell he was a micro-preemie. He has speech delay and does have severe asthma, other than that, he is a healthy and happy boy who love playing with his cars, going to tumbling gymnastic school and swimming.
