I bought an ice cream maker with my Amazon points!

So we are going to make homemade ice cream tonight! We haven't been drinking as much milk and it is going to waste so I thought this could be a way we put it to yummy use. We'll see how it goes. We've only made it one other time by hand...well, my daughter did and it turned out it's just slow going. We'll see how long the ice cream maker lasts....

We need to make more cheese but time is so short in the summer time with the garden and CSA that we are just not getting to it.

Have you made or had homemade ice cream? What was your experience like?

I just bought a Hamilton Beach one. I have a beef with Cuisinart so I won't buy another thing from them.

It turned out really well and the vanilla was great with Mrs. Richardson's hot fudge!

Milk, salt, sugar, eggs (cooked into a custard) and vanilla.

I have an Amazon Prime membership, mostly for the free shipping, and when I went to check out I had $17+ in points so I redeemed them and only paid $7+ for the Hamilton Beach ice cream maker. We did have to go out and buy rock salt and ice last night but had everything else.
