Article: Beyond Red Ridinghood: Protecting Children from Our Pain About the World

For the most part our younger children are mostly sheltered from many happenings going on in the world. It gets harder when you have children who read and want to read the newspapers. :( I think knowledge of the news can be good but it can be bad. I want our children to stay children as long as possible but part of letting them grow up means they are slowly introduced to the bad things happening in the world. Many times we will talk about different things because we have older children who mention things so our younger children do hear more about some things than others when we are having family discussions.

Do you protect your children from the things going on in the world, natural disasters, gun shootings, etc.? Why or why not?
