Haying!

My husband finally found someone to cut our hay field. He came out yesterday to look at the field and then was back to cut today. But now I don't hear the tractor and fear something happened to his equipment....sigh, say a prayer all is well and the rain holds off so we can get our first cutting done. We are hoping to get a second cutting...we could use the hay income. Not that it will be top dollar hay with all the overgrown weeds but a little is better than nothing, right?

We do small square/rectangular bales, as they are easier for us to handle. My husband thinks his cutter, not sure the proper name, keeps breaking down due to the thickness of the alfalfa and clover. :( Going to be a looooonnnnggg night for him, I think.

He raked it today but it's suppose to rain the next three days. I was hoping for at least tomorrow to be nice and praying Saturday would end up nice.....our field was so high making it thick, needing more time to dry.
