Sometimes you just have to let him cry for some time - and he'll be tied and sleep. It's a common problem, as I know

I breast feed too. It sounds like you little one is going through a growth spurt wanting to nurse longer, I use to breastfeed until I knew she was about done falling asleep then lay her down while she's still suckling and let her pull off and she'd fall asleep. Maybe try to burp him after you nurse because he could have gas causing his tummy to hurt. I hope things work out and keep breastfeeding.

It could be a growth spurt. Let him nurse for as long as he wants. When you put him down, will he also wake up and start crying if you keep a hand on him? This has worked with my daugther when she is struggling to fall asleep. At some point, I will walk out of the room and let her cry for a few minutes and come back in. Depending on how upset she is, I may pick her up and rock her or I may just place my hand on her to calm her down and within 5-10 minutes, she is usually asleep. Just keep trying different things to see what works for you.
