"Man and wife"

There are two things I have issues with during a wedding ceremony. 1) The dad 'giving the daughter away' Okay, we don't live in the middle ages anymore okay. My father does not own me and neither will David when we get married. My parents (both) may escort me down the isle if they want. If not, then I'd gladly walk myself. 2) I now pronounce you 'man and wife.' Umm what? I'm a wife now but he get's to stay a 'man'?? I don't think so. It's either 'man and woman' or 'husband and wife'. I prefer the latter and that's the way it'll be for our wedding. I am still a woman, not just a wife now.

Maybe it's just me, but I can not stand these things in a wedding ceremony. What are your thoughts??

I don't know I think I like the traditional wedding. And I generally hear people say Husband and Wife more than Man and Wife but it could just be different here.
