Getting Even With Your Ex

When I was at work the other day, a man was talking about his evil ex. He picked his daughter (about 4) up for the weekend, and before he sent her home, he loaded her up with sugar and Mountain Dew. (His ex had done something similar with the daughter first, and he retaliated.) I didn't say anything since he wasn't talking to me, but I felt sorry for the child. Her health is being compromised while her parents battle it out. I think that's such an immature way to get even with your ex. What do you think?

My husbands ex does this all the time before we have a visitation and then she sends him with bags of candy that we have to take away. We actually had to take him to the doctor because he literally went into full detox mode when he stayed at our house for a week. For three hours his pupils were dialated and he was shaking and screaming at the top of his lungs, his face was beat red. It was horrible. The doctor told us "I told her not to let him have anymore sugar because he has a mild allergy to it and can't process it normally. He's going through detox" I was horrified. Ours is an extreme case but people think "it's just sugar" but it's not. It is cruel to the kid. That sugar crash is no joke! Even the court yelled at my husband for being overly protective and not letting his son have sugar, because "it's just sugar" despite the doctors diagnosis. (Yes, the mom took us to court over it, but we still don't let him have sugar) it's just sad that people use their kids as weapons. I don't think they realize what they are doing to them.

"It's just sugar" is an interesting comment. When was it made? Recently so many people have been screaming about the negative effects of sugar on the body. I've seen facebook groups that encourage people to detox and give up sugar.

The majority of people still think sugar is no big deal. And if eaten in moderation it is generally harmless.
