Amniotic Sac: Gush or trickle?

Moms,

Where were you and what were you doing at the time your water broke?

Did you gush or trickle?

Um...Mine didn't break until I was in labor and heads were half out-even then the doctor broke them so I have no idea but assuming a gush. :)

Well my water ruptured on Monday and I had her on Wednesday. The thing was I carried my daughter very low and because of that every time I would sneeze or cough or laugh I would pee a little so I would have to wear a pad. So when it ruptured I just thought that's what it was. Hey I was young I didn't know any better. Nobody knew I was pregnant until I was 8 months and 2 weeks. 3 weeks later I had my first daughter.

It was 5am and I was sleeping, I thought I peed the bed. I got up to go change and it would not stop, way more then a trickle, but not a gush. I called for my husband and just as I left the bathroom, I saw my husband booking it around the corner and up went both his legs, and he hit the ground hard. Apperantly, amniotic fluid is slippery, who knew. Who knew I could actually laugh so hard that my constant flow did indeed become a gush!

That was probably a very funny sight. I can just imagine if he had hurt himself, when the doctors ask what happened, he would be like I slipped on amniotic fluid. hilarious

Mine was a gush lol and completely unexpected as my daughter was about 6 weeks early. I'm glad I was at home lol. I never did go into labor either. I guess the only thing that was strange about it was my water breaking without already being in or going into labor on my own. My dr waited 12hrs for me to go into labor and when I didn't then decided to induce me. About 5 hrs after that I had my daughter. I'm 35 weeks pregnant now with my son and my dr says it's highly unlikely my water will break with no labor this time, so we'll see if it's any different lol.

On my way to go ask him to get out of the shower i thought i started to pee my pants n was so embarrassed i ran to tje room and changed. It just kept happening id come out of the restroom just to run back in only a minute. Finally i told my bf we went to tje emergency sure enough i had ruptured membranes. It was feb 2 i wasnt due till April 6.

I was in the hospital all three times and the doctor broke my water. It was an initial gush and then it went between gushing and trickling. It feels so gross and awkward. Kind of like if you peed yourself but never felt like you had to pee and then it happens over and over.

I thought of something... I was told with my youngest that it's a GOOD thing if it breaks while you are pushing because it will lubricate everything and make it easier for baby to come out. That kinda explains why water births are supposed to be easier, too... Hm. Interesting.

I flooded...the room. And, I am not joking. They mopped up about 5 times, and I was still gushing. It was estimated that about 25 pounds of water came out of me. It is rather humorous. Every time I laughed, water began pouring. After they popped me, my hubby came in and looked at my belly. His eyes became HUGE! I said, "Yep, that was all water." My stomach had shrunk, tremendously, after they popped it. And when I was being wheeled away for a C-Section, more water was coming out. I gushed for about a half hour or more. If I moved, more water came, if I laughed, more water came. The nurses just laughed and kept mopping, all while I kept apologizing. I had water under the bed, to the side of both walls. It was a lot!

I also didn't feel my contractions. I requested an epidural so my hubby could be in the room while they did a C-Section on me. But, when I was contracting before I got the Epi, I felt nothing. A nurse came in and said, "Great news. You're contractions are 80-90 seconds apart." I replied, "I'm having contractions? I don't feel anything." I got lucky. Whenever we are ready for another (which I hope is soon), I probably won't have the same luck. Lol

I was in bed. Thought I peed!!... Got up to check.. I didn't. Then started cramping. I actually removed my underwear (lol) and started pacing. I called my (ex)husband then we went to the hospital. I was ready to push at home alone I think, haha

Also, during my daughters birth I gushed through it all.. My doctor said she had never seen anything like it. lol I didn't even need the catheter after to remove the rest of the fluids..
