FIRED FOR PREGNANCY DISCRIMINATION TODAY AT WORK sigh! ......

So now i am without a job to support my kid all because I was discriminated against by the Operations Manager saying I cannot take more than 2 bathroom breaks. I am trying to be strong...but i know as the time progress it will eventually plague my mind bcuz i have nothing for my child yet...not even a hospital bag ready. I am trusting God to do the unthinkable for me bcuz I dont see how else i am going manage especially if I lose my car. Please pray for me ladies. Thanks.

I just saw that the Supreme Court changed the law i think yesterday that you cannot deny a pregnant woman reasonable accomodation. I am planning on going to the EEOC tmw and speak to a Discrimination Attorney.

I'm so sorry that happened. Good for you for being proactive! My first thought was to talk with BOLI (Bureau of Labor Industries). Erik had some weird stuff going on at work and they let him go, but paperwork states "voluntary resigned". My second thought is to talk to someone from Disability Rights of Florida - I just googled them and their website and contact information is online. Pregnancy, I believe qualifies as a short term disability hence why some women get issued disability placards.

I also hope you have documented all questionable/suspicious interaction with management especially the Operations Manager. "S/he who documents always wins" - remember this.

I will keep you in my prayers tonight. Do keep us posted. I'm curious to know the outcome. I know God will provide because HE always does.

      Hugs and prayers!

I'm so sorry! That's complete discrimination and you can definitely get some assistance with that. .Employers are supposed to make accommodations for you and using the restroom is not unreasonable by any means.I'm so sorry. :-(
This may not be the job you really want when it comes down to it if they treat you like a number like that instead of a valued employee. Things do happen for a reason and this could be a complete Blessing in Disguise" Stay strong and positive for yourself and healthy all the way around for your baby. We are here for you. Big Hugs! :-)

Two bathroom breaks at 31 weeks, that's unbelievable. I am sorry this happened to you. Your Operations Manager obviously isn't familiar with the law. I agree with what the others said, find a lawyer.

I did find a lawyer but he wants me to pay down $350 and $35 a month for paperwork postage and printing costs. I dont even have money to buy things for my baby who is due soon let alone to be paying attorney. sigh.
