Bullying

Bullying seems to be a large issue amongst the student population. It seems though that the definition of bullying can have grey areas.

What is the difference, in your opinion, between teasing and bullying?

Were you bullied in school? Have your kids ever had to deal with bullying?

Well I think both are wrong and there really shouldn't be a difference.. making fun, not being nice, being mean, rude, etc.. is all uncalled for.. I have no idea why kids are raised for bullying to be right.. it drives me insane that at homes all across the country parents are okay with how their kids treat others so awfully. To be honest.. I don't have a tolerance for it because I went to a Catholic school until 8th grade and I never ONCE saw bullying.. I am not lying. The school was caring, uplifting and perhaps some might call it unrealistic.. but it existed and I know it still does.

I wonder if it has something to do with the teachers zero tolerance for it and the common upbringing among the parents???

Teasing where even the one who is teased laughs is fine. We do that here in our home but as soon as the person is not enjoying the "fun" we nix it. I think there is a difference between teasing and bullying.

I don't know that I was bullied, but I was teased and I usually gave it back to the guys who teased.
