Urine Tract Infections

During 2 weeks ago I wen to the hospital to check for my abdominal and urine test to see I have an infection. after a week goes by I called my doctor to see have they got the test results back. She told me that my abdominal is normal, but you got an urine infection. Like all women I was shock to hear I have an infection inside me that I did not know of. Last week I have taken an yellow/black pill to fix my lower part, but I have to drink water and cranberry juice for two weeks. I found out you can get this urine infection from sex and pregnancy, which I wonder when I was carrying Ivy in me did I had this before or after the birth. Now on the 21 of August going to see another doctor for Pap exam, because they cut my lower part, because Ivy head can not get through, but it has been 2 years since I haven't gotten check for it. So I am worried about this, because my sister said she also got Urine infection and I told her the details on this website I have provided for you moms.

Thank you for sharing the information, Urinary Tract Infections are common, Women tend to get more bladder infections than men. This is probably because women have shorter urethra's, Having sex can make it easier for germs to get into a woman's urethra causing the infection. Most doctors will give an antibiotic to help clear the infection, drinking cranberry juice can help and water as a diuretic to help flush out the infections in the bladder.
UTI's are fairly common for women. There are a lot of things that can cause them. I personally am more prone to get them in the Summer when I'm not drinking enough water and staying hydrated. I'm glad the doctor gave you something.
Mary Jane, thanks for sharing because believe it or not, some people don't know mixing anal and vaginal sex can cause infections.

Personally I always go pee after having sex to help prevent UTI's. On the rare occasion that I did get a UTI, as a virgin teenager, I would drink 3 or 4 bottles of pure cranberry juice in a day or two. After that the UTI is gone and I'm back to being me. Oh and I'm not able to drink pure cranberry juice by itself. I mixed it with grape and apple juices. The pure cranberry juice I'm talking about comes in a glass jar and is about $7 per jar. On a side note it makes fantastic jelly. Anyway cranberry is a natural way to get rid of a UTI. Blueberries and grapes also help. There is something in the skins of these fruits that helps to get rid of the UTI.
