What to do if you think your child has a learning issue

One of the first things some parents hear from the Kindergarten teacher is "Your child seems to struggle much more than average", which is something no parent wants to hear.

What can you do? Where do you turn?

The first line of defense here is your pediatrician. Talk to them about what concerns the teacher has. While it could be nothing medical it is still a good idea to get a medical opinion. Nothing may be done right away, just their chart noted for school difficulties. Or, they may notice red flags between their observations and what you and the school are saying.

Have you ever had a concern about your child's progress at school?
