At what age should opposite sex children not share a room?

My children are 10 and 16 and do not share a room. They did though up until my daughter was around 10. Once she hit puberty she wanted privacy, which was understandable.

Do you think opposite sex children should not share rooms? Or are you of the opinion that this really shouldn't matter?

Right now my middle two do, at 4 and 2. But we are saving up to get them separate beds in separate rooms.

Ours have always been separate, except when they shared our bed as babies and toddlers. So it hasn't been an issue for us. We will let them sleep all together in a tent or downstairs in the basement when they want to have a sleep over. We don't have a problem with that a couple times a year. They are fully clothed etc. and still in separate beds, just all together.
