Teens and Rape

There is a very disturbing phenomenon that you hear about in the news a lot over the past few years. A teen girl gets very drunk and a group of guys proceed to rape her. She may be too drunk to even know it happened, too drunk to piece together the night or too drunk to be able to say no. And since there is no implied consent while you are drunk, yes this is rape.

These girls don't even have to be under the influence. There have been stories of this happening in secluded areas with guys that the girl thought were her friends, but they weren't.

How do we teach our children about this? Where do they go from being cautious to being paranoid when it comes to hanging out with friends? How do you teach your son not to just stand by, or worse participate?

What are your thoughts on this very sensitive issue?
