How do you handle foul language around your tots?

Let's say you're in line at the grocery store or in line at an amusement park, at the pool or anywhere for that matter. If a person you do NOT know uses foul language around your tot........

Is it possible they don't realize because they have no kids? Did they have something traumatic happen and sharing their story and the language poured out expressing feeling? Or, Possibly they don't care and just in conversation with their party of people? Does it matter to you their circumstance? How do you react?

If it's bad I normally say something to them. They don't like it but I don't like their fowl language around my one year old. I figure if they have the right to say it then I have the right to say something about it. Now, normally I ONLY say something to the people who are really bad or are going out of their way to get attention through their mouth. If someone is walking by in conversation with someone and we overhear a cuss word I just ignore it.

I wouldn't say anything unless it was a constant stream of angry cursing. I swear, too. Fairly often. I'm going to do my best to teach Nina that there are some words we don't say until we're older. I don't like the term "bad words". There are just words. Sure, we shouldn't always use some words, but the kid is going to hear those words someday, and in my opinion it's better they just learn that, while those words are there, it's better not to say them.

I don't usually say anything to strangers. Those who know me will apologize and try to remember not to curse in front of us, especially when our children are present. If they slip up they apologize.
