Puberty and weight gain

It is very common for kids to chunk up a little bit going into puberty. Starting around 10 years old you will notice their body becoming more solid and they may get a tiny gut on them.

There is no reason to freak out and put them on a diet! This is completely normal as their body is preparing for all of the changes it is about to go through. They are going to get taller and their bodies will change when they hit puberty. In the meantime, keep offering healthy food and encouraging an active lifestyle!

Did you notice your child gained weight before puberty?
