Did you really... SLEEP when your baby SLEPT!?

So if there is one thing I have heard over and over and over again..

it is.. SLEEP WHEN YOUR BABY SLEEPS!

Moms.. did you do this? Are you glad you did? Did you need it? Not need it? Wish you would have listened and done it?

Also note.. did any of you ever hire a house keeper to come over every once in awhile after you brought a newborn home?

I would nod off after nursing, but most of the time, I would do various chores... dishes, put clothes away, play with older kids, or I literally just wanted to SIT still and watch Oprah or something alone... just sit there... freely... LOL... It was nice..
I'm not a napper though... never have been... I never have woken up refreshed from napping... always sort of ruins the day for me no matter what...

Housekeeper? Nope. If I could have afforded it I would... FOR SURE.. Don't ever feel guilty getting a housekeeper every week if you can... As soon as I can now, I will.. just to get the icky cleaning parts... like corners and fans.. etc...

I am a sit still kind of gal too, Jessica! I can doze off.. but hardly ever NAP during the day... did you find yourself wishing you could? Were you super duper tired?

I have two gals come about monthly.. they are amazing and SO affordable here, got really lucky.. I might have to give them a call or two come 2014 :) And like you said.. it's honestly for the parts I hate to clean.. bathrooms.. crown molding.. just things I don't always have time for!

I didn't with my first two, except the initial days after birth. By my third with three girls three and under I had to because I was exhausted. They napped so much better with me in the room, we go so much more reading and singing done. That's about the time when we started to lay down with them at night to put them to bed too.

Was tempted to hire a housekeeper (not that we could afford one but the temptation was there at times) and have been in the past two years, but I am pretty picky about cleaning (I try not to nick pick my children's cleaning but try to encourage them on how they can do better....which may still be taken wrong sometimes.... anyhoo...). I also have trust issues with a stranger being in my house so those two things have deterred me.
