Do you allow your kids to eat Halloween candy? If so how much?

Since Halloween is the next real big holiday coming, and I'm a first time mommy. I was wondering if anyone allowed their kids to eat Halloween candy at 10 months and if so how much candy did you allow them to have? Also, if you did what types of candy did you allow them to have?

Thanks and I have a friend who has given me an idea that I want to make a tradition. She let's her son go trick or treating but when he gets home he leaves it in a bowl on a chair and goes inside and waits for the " Switch Witch" to take the candy and leave him a toy in exchange for the candy! But really she gives it out to all the other trick or treaters. I'm gonna give it a shot and see how it works out for him!

Last year Tristen was ten months old was already walking by Halloween. He went trick or treating with us and his older cousins. He didn't understand the whole candy thing but he is so social he LOVED knocking on the door and waving at all the people. We let him have a few pieces of the candy and gave the rest to his cousins.
