Possibly getting fired..

I am super upset right now. I just received an email from my HR. She said I've missed 8 days of work in the past 3 weeks and that might lead to termination. I guess having doctors notes won't do anything at all. I've worked so hard at this company for 6 years and this new boss just got here couple of months ago and now this shit..

Oh that's awful, maybe it's a blessing in disguise and you'll find something better.

Been crying for over an hour..

Lindsay - you're right. This might be something that I have to go through until something much better comes along.

Laura - thanks and trying not to get stressed out about it but it's not working :(

Can he really do that by law? Especially if you are taking sick days? You must have sick days accumulated in the six years you've worked there, right?

If its anything like my job you lose them if they aren't used within the year, therefore only what you have in the current year counts. And Ive found, where I live anyway it really doesn't matter if you have sick time or not, they still have attendance policies, so having the time doesn't necessarily matter, nor does it matter if the absences have dr's notes or not. Of course employment is "at will" here which basically means they can terminate your employment anytime, with or without cause. If I were in this situation missing 8 days in 3 weeks would have gotten me fired from pretty much every job I've ever had, valid or not because I've never had an employer that allowed that many absences in that short of a time period.

I understand my company might have their own policy and all but it seems like ever since my new boss came aboard. She has been trying to do whatever it takes to get rid of me and this is the perfect opportunity to do so..

Thanks Tiffany! I've been a mess since I got an email from my HR. Crying my eyes out for hours.. I just feel like they are being unfair to me after all the things that I have done for the company. It would be different if I was lazy and don't work when I'm at work. But I'm not even like that.. I seriously think my new boss wanted to get rid of me so she can find a replacement (one of her old employees).

I can't be stress out anymore because it's making me sick and I don't want to harm the baby :(

I hope everything works out for you, whether it means you keeping this job or finding something better. It's awful that your boss is treating you this way but Im sure everything will work out in the end. From your posts it seems like you have been having a difficult time lately, don't let someone like this make you feel badly. You need to do what is best for you and your baby, Good luck to you.
